ABOUT ROAM PLAY REPEAT

Roam Play Repeat started from a pretty simple idea: these are the things I genuinely enjoy doing, and probably the things I’ll keep doing for the rest of my life.

Travel somewhere new. Play a game. Get lost in a good story. Discover something worth sharing. Then do it all over again.

RPR is about that kind of lifestyle.

Not necessarily traveling full-time, owning the best gaming setup, or reading everything that comes out. It’s about enjoying the things you’re into, discovering new experiences when you can, and sharing the ones that are actually worth talking about.

A lot of what you’ll find here comes from things I’ve personally experienced, used, played, or read. The goal is to keep it relatable and useful, whether you’re planning your next trip, looking for something new to play, or trying to figure out what to read next.

That’s basically the idea.

THE STYLE BEHIND RPR

You’ll probably notice that Roam Play Repeat has a strong Japanese influence.

That’s intentional.

Japan has always had this interesting mix of things I enjoy: travel, gaming, manga, technology, street culture, and really good design.

The visual direction of RPR takes inspiration from that world, but I didn’t want the site to feel overly themed or like it was trying too hard to look “Japanese.”

Instead, the idea is to keep things clean, simple, and a little editorial, with subtle influences from Japanese magazines, posters, gaming culture, and modern design.

It fits what RPR is about.

A mix of travel, games, stories, and the things we discover along the way.

Travel experiences, places we’ve actually visited, things we learned along the way, and the occasional mistake that might save you from making the same one.

You’ll find travel stories, guides, itineraries, recommendations, and practical tips based on real experiences.

I don’t want RPR to be about checking as many destinations as possible off a list.

Sometimes the best part of traveling is simply slowing down and actually enjoying where you are.

Gaming has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

This is where I talk about the games I’m playing, gaming gear, setups, tech, and anything else that makes playing a little more enjoyable.

Not everything needs to be the newest or most expensive thing available either.

If I genuinely enjoy using it, playing it, or think it’s worth recommending, there’s probably a place for it here.

Sometimes I want to explore somewhere new.

Sometimes I just want to sit down and read for hours.

This part of RPR is for manga, manhwa, books, webcomics, and stories that I think are worth checking out.

Expect recommendations, things I’m currently reading, hidden gems, and probably a lot of stories involving ridiculously overpowered main characters.

Because apparently I never get tired of those.

WHO’S BEHIND RPR?

Hey, I’m Carl Cane.

I’m a gamer, a reader, a digital nomad, and someone who enjoys traveling whenever life gives me the chance.

My wife and I love exploring new places together, trying different food, shopping probably more than we originally planned, and collecting experiences along the way.

When I’m not traveling, there’s a good chance I’m playing something, reading manga or manhwa, watching something, working remotely, or planning where we could go next.

Roam Play Repeat isn’t meant to be a diary about my life.

It’s more like a collection of the things I’ve discovered through it.

Places worth visiting.

Games worth playing.

Stories worth reading.

Things worth trying.

And hopefully, somewhere along the way, you’ll find something here that makes you want to roam, play, read, and repeat too.
